When NC State students reach out to Pack Recovery, they are invited to meet one-on-one with someone affiliated with the group as a means to learn more about the community and ensure it is a good fit for them. Talking to someone individually first can help ease the transition into the group. This is an opportunity to learn more about Pack Recovery, including its mission, activities, and members.
There is no requirement that members be affiliated with any other recovery, 12-step, or mutual-aid support group; however, there is an expectation that students be committed to abstaining from substance use. Participants are expected to respect the confidentiality of others and commit to creating a safe space that is rooted in the principles of recovery. A student wishing to join Pack Recovery meets with the CRC Coordinator, who determines whether or not the student meets criteria for group participation.
