Prevention Services is joining the conversation about eating disorders and body image in this year’s National Eating Disorders Awareness Week from February 22 to February 28, 2021. The theme for this year is Every Body Has a Seat at the Table. Join us for the following events as we encourage and challenge ourselves to think about the ways we treat and think about our bodies.

Monday, February 22
- Nutrition Trivia | 2-2:30 p.m. | via Zoom
- Join members of the NC State Dining and Nutrition teams and test your knowledge with a game of nutrition trivia.
Tuesday, February 23
- Sculpting Your Body Image | 2-3 p.m. | via Zoom | Register here
- Join us as we engage in an expressive arts activity as we discuss the connection between body image and art. Specific emphasis will be placed on the impact of culture on body image.
- Meditation for Mental Health | 6-7 p.m. | via BigMarker | Register here
- In collaboration with Inner Engineering Association and Engineering Happiness
- This webinar offers simple tools to create mental balance and inner peace:
- Nadi Shuddi, a yogic practice that cleanses the nadis – the pathways through which pranic energy flows – resulting in a balanced system and psychological wellbeing
- Isha Kriya – a powerful meditative process for health, dynamism and wellbeing
Wednesday, February 24
- Quarantine 15 | 1 p.m. | via Zoom and broadcasted to Facebook Live
- Join us for a presentation and panel regarding the pandemic and body image. Topics covered will include aspects of control, access to resources, and pressure to be “healthier” during quarantine. Questions for the panel may be submitted at go.ncsu.edu/quarantine15

- Join the Mental Health Ambassadors for a discussion about culture and body image. Topics will include what eating disorders can look like across different groups of people, how social media reinforces negative body image, and how we can practice self-care and promote body positivity!
