Bio

Christy Fiber Sigmon is an Outreach and Resilience Coordinator with Prevention Services.  In this role Christy develops and provides training and outreach initiatives to students, staff and faculty and also oversees the Mental Health Ambassador peer educator program.  Christy is a Licensed Psychologist with over 20 years of experience in the field.  She worked for the California Department of State Hospitals for over a decade where she held leadership positions and specialized in providing comprehensive and empirically validated treatment modalities to individuals while also developing and implementing a DBT program for the state wide hospital system.  She has worked with adolescents and young adults in university settings including UC Davis and NC State University for the past 8 years collectively.  Christy has her Doctorate of Psychology (PsyD) degree from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University and a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Towson University.  She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from West Virginia University where she also served as a scholarship athlete and Captain of the women’s tennis team. Christy has a passion for facilitating access to care and providing outreach resources to vulnerable populations and the general student population at NC State.
